New Bible Proof: Temple Relics Unearthed

Archaeologists discover official seals from Kingdom of Judah

JERUSALEM – Israeli archaeologists yesterday announced the discovery of a large building dating to the time of the First and Second Temples associated with Hezekiah, the King of Judah.

The Israeli government's Antiquities Authority oversaw the excavation in the southern Jerusalem village of Umm Tuba. The agency said its archaeologists unearthed the remains of an ancient building consisting of several rooms arranged around a courtyard, containing pottery and other artifacts from the First and Second Temple Periods.

The finds include official government seals bearing the names of Ahimelekh ben Amadyahu and Yehokhil ben Shahar, who were high-ranking officials in Hezekiah's government. The life of Hezekiah, the son of King Ahaz is detailed in the biblical books of Kings, Isaiah and Chronicles. Hezekiah was the 13th king of independent Judah.

Archaeologists also found a Hebrew inscription – dating 600 years after the Kingdom of Judah seals – on a fragment of a jar neck, characteristic of the beginning of the Hasmonean period. The ancient building was partially destroyed during the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem.

The finds are the latest in a mountain of unearthed remains giving a clearer picture of the Jewish presence in Jerusalem during the First and Second Temple periods. Still, the Palestinian Authority, which seeks control of the Temple Mount and eastern Jerusalem, steadfastly denies the Jewish temples ever existed.

Y'know, maybe someone should ask former President and current Hamas supporter, Jimmy Carter whether or not he believes the temples ever existed.

"This day the LORD will deliver you up into my hands, and I will strike you down and remove your head from you. A few notable occurences in the world of faith

According to the Associated Press, two "mainline" denominations  have announced decisions that mark them as a severe move away from what they refer to as "Bible-based Christianity". Personally, I think that term is idiotic, since anything that comes from sources other than the Bible is not Christian.

The first decision is from the Episcopal church who have just named Kevin Forrester as the new Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Michigan. Mr. Forrester already holds ordainment as a Zen Buddhist, and it is believed that as the new Bishop of Northern Michigan, Forrester will "resonate deeply in interfaith dialogue with Buddhism and meditative practices".

Perhaps this may lead to an alliance with Rob Bell (whose mega-church is located in Michigan) who does injury to the gospel on a continual basis by teaching buddhist ideas, techniques, and theology under the guise of a "new eastern Christianity".

The second decision was made by the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Arkansas and North Carolina who have decided to now endorse non-celibate homosexuals to be ordained as ministers, deacons and elders. This is really no surprise as they have for quite some time ordained both homosexual men and women in the PCUSA; they were just expected to remain celibate because the church forbid sex outside of traditional marriage (yeah, as if!).

Another notable happening in the world of faith: In South Carolina, a  counselor with nearly 20 years experience was suspended for six weeks after she took four teenagers from the Orangewood Children's Home (run by Orange County) to an pre-approved day-long beach festival.

The day included a 5K run before going to the beach. While the group was eating, they overheard Christian music that was being played at the "Surf Jam" event on the Huntington Beach Pier. After the outing, the counselor was ordered into a "disciplinary meeting" that focused on the inappropriate nature of Christian music. Weeks later, she was called to another meeting about the same "incident", and was then suspended for "exposing children to unapproved religious activities".

Can you imagine what would have happened to her had they met up with a funeral procession in traffic, or a passed a nun on the sidewalk while heading to their car? This ridiculous horsecrap is now being challenged in court by the counselor who wants to recoup her salary losses, and to have her constitutional rights vindicated.

And in another sickening instance...

...of just how screwed up and pathetic the modern American mindset truly is....

A new interactive poll conducted by Harris asked 2,634 Americans who they admire enough to call the person a hero.Instead of being given a list to choose from, they were allowed to pick for themselves completely at random.

When this poll was conducted in 200, the top 10 slots were:

1) Jesus Christ
2) Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

3) Colin Powell

4) John F. Kennedy

5) Mother Teresa
In less than a decade Jesus has dropped to the number two spot.
1) Barack Obama
2) Jesus Christ
3) Martin Luther King Jr
4) Ronald Reagan
5) George W. Bush
And on a list that also included Gandhi (15), Hillary Clinton (12), and Oprah Winfrey (20), GOD (y'know, The Father) ranked all the way down at #11.

of course, most people will blow this off as meaningless, "just another dumb poll", and so on; but if you look at the changes, and where those on the list appear, it gives a pretty realistic (and truly sad) picture of how Americans actually think and believe today. Would that Dr. King were with us today, I would love to hear his comments on how the general populace treats and speaks of Jesus today - including our current President.

Pro-marriage speech garners professor's profane wrath

From OneNewsNow 2/16/2009:

Pro-marriage speech garners professor's profane wrath
Charlie Butts and Jody Brown

2After being called a "fascist" by his professor, a Christian California student has filed suit against his college for violations of his free-speech rights.

Less than a month after voters in California decided to amend their state constitution and protect traditional marriage, Jonathan Lopez -- in a public speaking class -- shared his beliefs on faith and marriage. David French of the Alliance Defense Fund picks up the story.

"Jonathan talked about his faith -- and one of the things he talked about in context of his faith was...marriage," says French. "He read from the dictionary definition of marriage. The professor stopped the class, called him a 'fascist b_____d' -- [he] used the expletive -- [and] told the class that anyone who wanted to could leave if they were offended...."

According to an ADF press release, when no one got up to leave, the instructor simply dismissed the class, effectively ending Lopez's speech -- which violated the student's free-speech rights, adds the attorney, especially since other students made speeches on other subjects. Religious speech, notes French, apparently was excluded from the open-ended speech assignment.

"You just cannot shut down student speech like that," states French, who explains that Lopez was well within the confines of his professor's assignment, and that the professor's actions not only constitute viewpoint discrimination but also comprise "retaliation" because he disagreed with Lopez's religious beliefs.

According to the ADF attorney, the professor was not yet finished. "When [Lopez later] complained about what was an obvious act of censorship, he was threatened with expulsion by that same professor," he says.

The speech professor is identified as John Matteson of Los Angeles Community College. ADF reports that after Proposition 8 (the marriage-related constitutional amendment) was approved on November 4, Matteson told his entire class: "If you voted yes on Proposition 8, you are a fascist b_____d."

Ultimately Matteson refused to grade Lopez's November 24 speech, and wrote on the evaluation: "Ask God what your grade is."

12-year-old girl gives pro-life speech even when threatened

Despite being threatened with disqualification, a 12-year-old girl argued for the rights of unborn children.

Several teachers discouraged her speaking about abortion; telling her it was 'too big,' 'too mature' and 'too controversial,'" a topic. Her teacher also told her that she wouldn't be allowed to continue on in the speech competition if she spoke on abortion. The young Canadian girl, identified only as "Lia" chose to go ahead with her speech.

After hearing it the teacher changed her mind and let her advance in the competition. The principal and teachers said she was the obvious winner after she gave the speech to the judges on Feb. 10th, but the disqualified her the following day because of her topic and pro-life position. A large disagreement took place between the judges, and one of them quit, while the rest reversed position and declared her the winner.

She now plans to give her speech at a regional competition.

Fetal Stem Cells TRIGGERED Brain Tumors

In a story released on Tuesday, Feb 17th, 2009, by the Associated Press that you're not likely to hear too much about anywhere else, it was reported that the use of fetal stem cells in treating a young boy with a lethal brain disease actually triggered tumors in both his brain and in his spinal cord.

According to the article:
"Dr. John Gearhart, a stem cell scientist at the University of Pennsylvania who wasn't involved in the Israeli boy's care but who sees similarly desperate U.S. patients head abroad to clinics that offer unproven stem cell injections. Cells are not drugs." Gearhart also said that patients needed to beware.

And according to stem cell specialist Dr. Marius Wernig of Stanford University, "This brain disease wasn't conducive to stem cell therapy in the first place". The unidentified Israeli boy had neural stem cells harvested from fetuses injected into his brain and spine at the ages of 9, 10 and 12 at a clinic in Moscow. By 13 he was using a wheelchair, and his condition has stabilized since a mass was removed in 2006 when he was 14 years old. The boy suffers from ataxia telangiectasia.

And I'll say it again...

...Camille Paglia is one liberal I'd love to meet over a pot or two of hot coffee.

from the blogosphere:

Camille Paglia Says Democrats Betrayed the Soul of Their Party

Camille Paglia appeared on WABC-AM's 'The Mark Simone Show' yesterday to talk about the Fairness Doctrine, and you may be surprised at what she said. Paglia blasted the Democrats for even mentioning a reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine, saying "I don't get it . . . the essence of the 1960's, my generation, was about free speech . . . that's what Lenny Bruce was about - it was about the free speech movement, for heaven's sake, at Berkeley! What are my fellow Democrats doing? Not for one second should the government be wandering into survelliance of, monitoring of, the ideological content of talk radio. The Democrats, they've totally betrayed the soul of the party to even mention this."

She has a lot more to say about it, and you can listen here. It's about 5 minutes total, and a blast to listen to!

Survey on spiritual gifting

A recent survey of professing Christians asked those who claimed they had heard of spiritual gifts to name those given to them by God (I'd have asked those who claimed no knowledge of them where they attended church!).

As you would expect, many claimed gifts of hospitality, service, teaching, and a number of them claimed gifts of healing and tongues (which would have begged further questioning by me as well...but it wasn't my poll).

However, the survey also had many people who claimed spiritual gifts that are not in scripture - such as the gift of singing, a sense of humor, the gift of happiness, life, and health (Joel Osteen attendees maybe?), and spiritual gifts of premonition and clairvoyance.

You don't need a gift of discernment to see how hard this little item has made it for me to suppress my spiritual gift of sarcasm!

Rape & Molestation are videogame "fun" now???

Let me start this by saying that this post is exceptionally hard to write because the subject is just so disturbing that I’d rather not even think about it any further. Then why am I writing it? Because people need to know about this kind of stuff. Parents who aren’t mindful enough of their children need to know about it. Husbands who aren’t protective enough of their wives need to know about it. And all the people who make pathetic excuses that claim that our outside interest and influences from television, movies, video games and the like have no bearing on who we really are; need to know about this. Left unchecked (as it is in modern society), they all most certainly bear testament to who we can easily become.

My first knowledge of this garbage was a headline on FoxNews.com last night that drew my attention: Amazon Blocks Sale Of 'Rape' Game. “Rape game? That has to be an exaggeration” I thought. I thought wrongly.

I read the article on FoxNews that ended with a “read more” link to the original article on SkyNews out of the U.K., so I read the entire original article, which I am going to reprint below. As sick to my stomach as I was by then, I thought to myself that there was no way that something this awful could be so “under the radar” that no one knew about it except the pervs involved, and what were the odds that only Amazon had offered it for sale? After all, the article only states that they decided to ban it, not that they were the only promoters. So I typed the game name into Google and got 137,000 hits that seemed to be of three types predominantly: (1) Links to the original SkyNews article (2) Links to places to download legal and illegal copies (3) a pretty small amount of opinions and thoughts on the whole thing and (4)…reviews .

Brace yourself, read this and be appalled and prepared to lose your appetite for much of the day.

SkyNews
Amazon Blocks Sale Of 'Rape' Game

9:13am UK, Friday February 13, 2009
A Japanese computer game that lets players simulate raping girls has had its sales blocked by Amazon.

The 'RapeLay' videogame was available to buy on the web store via a third-party seller specialising in Hentai - sexually explicit Japanese animation products.

"We determined that we did not want to be selling this particular item," an Amazon spokeswoman said.

Rapelay was reportedly created exclusively for the Japanese market but a couple of "like new" copies were being offered on Amazon.

The game was released in 2006 by Illusion studio, based in Japan.

Other titles from the studio include 'Battle Raper' and 'Artificial Girl'.

According to game review site Giant Bomb, RapeLay is a "molestation simulation that allows you to terrorise a woman and her two teenage daughters, with events ranging from groping on a train to gang rape and forced abortions".

The Belfast Telegraph reported that Labour MP Keith Vaz said he was shocked by the Amazon listing and planned to raise the issue in Parliament.

Mr Vaz told the paper: "It's intolerable that anyone would purchase a game that simulates the criminal offence of rape.

"To know that this is widely available through a major online retailer is utterly shocking. I do not see how this can be allowed.

"I will be raising this matter in Parliament and hope that action is taken to prevent the game from being sold."

I knew that “Hentai”, which a form of Japanese animation and comic-style art, has a serious pornographic aspect that is very widespread across the internet ; IU had no idea that full-on rape simulators were in existence, let alone available as a line of games. But this?

I’m not at all surprised that there are video games that now are about nothing but sex, after all, look at the filth of Grand Theft Auto, and that has not only been around for quite some time, but is readily available at regular retail outlets across the country. But, actual rape games?

Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m in no way saying that it would any more acceptable, but this stuff isn’t even in the just heavily “implied and not really shown” category of garbage – this is complete total, promoted, extensive abusive of women and girls in a video game setting.

According to the bits of review I did read (and how someone could bring themselves to “play” this game at all I don’t know), the article from SkyNews is a pretty timid portrait of what actually takes place within this game.

  • The game monitors and tracks each assault, and the number of times the player ejaculates, and encourages the gamer to assault the girls as many times and in as many different ways as possible in order to train them to be sex slaves for use even worse ways.
  • The girl being raped by the player will become “more pregnant” with each assault until the baby is born, at which point the video game player will be killed for not having aborted the baby before it could be born.
  • Players can cut, paste, assemble, and record their own rape videos that they “write and direct”.
  • The main targets of the game are a mother and her two daughters. The youngest (who is not even a teen as the article suggested) gets raped in a child’s room on a bed full of teddy bears, and the player gets to see the child visibly crying as she’s being raped.

Some folks upon hearing this will of course try to brush it off with “That’s Japan, not here.” Which is of course bunk, the company who is making and promoting this particular video game title may be Japanese, but this sickening spirit of evil is openly embraced by billions of people around the world. Welcome to the modern world, one that would have sent Philip K. Dick scampering for a place to hide.

Odd, but there it is...

I was Googling something to check a link and came up with a link that quoted me on this blog approximately one year ago, which in and of itself is not so odd I suppose, but...

the link and post is approximately a year old, and I had never seen it before...even when searching just as I was now; AND, it's on the first page of results. Makes you wonder how Google manages the rankings of over time of some things.

Anyway, the blog that quoted me is: dane101.com The Collaborative Blog for Madison Wisconsin (atsa a mouthful isn't it?). The page where my lipping off appears is located HERE. The issue at hand was Madison's whole "anti-oath" of office baloney. The writer did a nice job of laying out some point/counter-point quotes about the whole thing, and in my case, used my words to rebut a quote from the Mayor in The Wisconsin State Journal.

So apparently someone is reading my stuff at least once in a while. Are you? :-)

Time for a free plug

To explain it all fully would take a ridiculous amount of time, likely bore the poop right out of you, and not add any "must know" information to what the post is really about; so...screw it.

All you need to know for this is that I found myself at a place where I had a serious mess on/among my hard drives, and needed very much to change/adjust partitions.

Screwing with partitions is not something everyone should do, in fact, unless it is absolutely needed, no one should do so. Historically speaking it is a tedious, perilous, and nerve-wracking process; and if that weren't enough, software for it is generally expensive and often buggy or just plain lacking.

Well, with a (very) little searching on the internet, I found my way to EASEUS Partition Manager Home Edition (current version 3.0.1). The program is very user-friendly, easy to navigate through, and reasonably quick. With it you can change the size of partitions up or down, create and delete partitions, as well as move, label and formatting them. On top of all that, you can do all of this from right within Windows; no booting to a CD, or messing around in DOS, just fire it up in XP, and away you go! I've yanked its chain a few differing directions and didn't manage to produce nary a glitch! Seriously, this little program just plain rocks!

Now, before you go and click on that link I embedded in the program name to get yourself a copy, let me tell you the best part; the progran is 100% FREE to Home Users. Not Trialware, not Demoware, not Shareware : FREE !!
