What really blows at Burger King

I passed on commenting on this ad over a week ago. I honestly thought "This is so far over-the-top it'll be pulled before anyone gets around to reading what I say about it. Well...apparently not. Not only has Burger King not pulled this downright vulgar ad, but now that the mainstream press is talking about it, all BK is doing is offering lame excuses as to why they still aren't pulling it.

The ad for the "BK Super Seven Incher" has to be about the most tasteless (pardon the unavoidable pun) advertisements to ever run outside the walls of a porn store; in fact, there are porn ads that are tame by comparison in some markets. Don't believe me? Look at the ad and see for yourself - it is a non-stop oral sex assault!

  1. They posed and made-up a model to look just like a sex doll.
  2. They staged the shot of the "sandwich" and her to mimic oral sex.
  3. Huge text says "IT'LL BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY".
  4. The copy says "Fill your desire for something long, juicy..." the "NEW BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER". Then "Yearn for more after you taste the mind-blowing".
  5. The name alone: BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER.
  6. Instead of professional-styled food photography, they made it look sloppy, and then accented/highlighted the oozing very white mayo, simulating the idea of...
This ad is so far gone into filth that even marketing & advertising research firms are decrying it - and these are the folks who think most of this stuff up to begin with! Maybe since BK is refusing to remove an ad that is clearly repulsive to so many people, we should try another tactic than asking them to get rid of it. Maybe we should pull up to the Drive-Thru and when they ask how they can help us, we could just say "You know, I was really hungry for a sandwich...then I remembered that Super 7 Incher poster and lost my appetite. Thanks anyway." and then leave. How many manager and district manager calls to corporate do you think it might take before the King decided to rescind this proclamation?

Wow. I hadn't even heard about this. What really blows at BK are their prices and service; the one on 76th & Holmes (or some other little side street) was so consistent in getting our orders wrong, I refuse to go there anymore.

You should include a phone number/email address/contact name @ BK for us to vent our disgust and let them know they're facing a potentially huge boycott. My 11 year old nephew is not nearly as innocent as I was at his age, but that doesn't mean even he should be able to recognize that a fast food ad is not-even-thinly-veiled porn.
