Huckabee Nixes The Negative

Below you will find the two newest ads that Mike Huckabee is running in Iowa. As you will likely hear, there was a third ad sent, and it was what is known as an "attack ad". Huckabee filmed it, and sent it, but decided to pull the plug on it before it went on the air.

The media (and likely other campaign(ers) as well) will no doubt jump on it, proclaim it all a marketing ploy, etc. Let them.

I know that in my own life, for every time I've stuffed my foot in my mouth, there are probably a hundred other times where I tasted the tip of my shoe and decided to pull back and find something better to eat. For every time that I have blown my stack and went on a rampage (an ugly thing to behold believe me!), there have been dozens more where I bit down on my tongue and clamped my mouth shut only as the lava was erupting from within (and I am thankful that over the last handful of years God has greatly increased how often I remain calm and controlled from the start of situations).

Being a man of integrity doesn't mean that Mike Huckabee doesn't ever get angry. Being a man of principle doesn't mean that he won't ever be tempted to ignore them. What it means is that he will struggle to remain true to what he believes, and when he screws up, he'll admit it, apologize for it, and then move on.

I am grateful that Mike chose to not run the ad, we have all had more than enough of that kind of campaigning. I am proud of Huckabee for publicly admonishing himself for having created it to begin with. Our country (and the entire world) needs to bring ourselves to a place of confession, to a point of repentance, and then to a time of renewal.

By the way, if you have time, go to the archives and check out my last post. It contains YouTube videos of Mike Huckabee being interviewd by Tim Russert on Meet The Press a few days ago. It runs about 25 minutes or so total.
